2012 Resolutions/Ongoing Goals: update

...exactly what it says in the blog title...

2012 Resolutions:

1) Visit a different region of Italy or a different country (the UK is not accepted) at least once a month.
In January I visited Milan (see part i, part ii and part iii) and in February I visited Lecce (see here and here).  So far so good :)  Any suggestions for a CHEAP visit for March?!  I'm thinking a region nearby that I can visit with my friends at the end of March.

2) Make a new friend each month so next Christmas the guests at my "party" is doubled from 11 to 22.
Erm...forgot about this resolution...annoylingly a few friends are leaving over the next few months...hmm.

3) Achieve a certified level of Italian (speaking, written and comprehension)
Currently attending Italian lessons at a school here (for free too) but it's a level above where I really am!  Quite an embarrassing experience returning to school, it's "death by worksheet" too...

Ongoing Goals:

a) On June 30th 2012 wear my pair of Oneill trousers in public.
In February I attempted to adopt a strict healthy regime consisting of calorie counting and a lot of structure (see here).  I had to abandon this after 3 weeks as I found it impossible to match it to my day and current lifestyle especially as it was taking up a lot of my "thinking time" at the expense of other things.  I have increased my cardio-vascular activity though (and giving up alcohol for lent will also contribute towards a bit of weight loss) but this won't be effective until I stop eating so much food!

b) Gain a Music Performance Diploma in Piano (DipABRSM)
In January I bought a stage piano.  Definite progress.  It's good to have the piano near-by me again, I missed it.  I'm seeking a piano teacher at the moment (meeting someone that might be able to help me next week sometime) so that I have no reason to slack off the practice as I do now...there's always something better to do!!!

c) Get a Masters in Education
For this I have done the most.  I have applied for a Credit Transfer to see if the credits I gained in my PGCE can be put towards a Masters with the Open University.  If successful, this should reduce the number of modules I need to study.  I should find out the result of my application in a month so in the meantime I'm considering what modules would benefit me for my current position and my future decisions.

d) Leave my ears alone

This is definitely a work in progress.  I am a lot better though!  I've even developed an inner monologue of "When they itch, they itch" that reminds me of the pain I have had previously from my ears getting infected.  Lovely!
